MTC Drop: Tanner
On November 7, 2012, we took Tanner to the Missionary Training Center in Provo, Utah to receive training for three weeks for his mission to Peru, the Lima, Peru West mission. Garrett and Talmage were left at home for scholastic reasons. It was a quick three day trip to Provo, but it was a nice time to spend with Tanner before he left.
On the morning of the 7th we left Grandma's in SLC where we stayed the night and drove for Provo. We had the traditional lunch at JDawgs and friends and family were there(Brian Gardiner, Cami Larsen, the Ivins, and Jordan and Logan.) Then the three of us drove to the MTC. We were directed to parking space #1 and got out. A couple pictures were snapped and Tanner scampered off. We thought we were experienced parents and this experience would bridle our emotions, but as we drove off, the waterworks began. We are going to miss him, but are also so happy for the experience he will enjoy, and the people he will serve.

Hygiene in Twenty13
This year we have been contemplating our theme. There are so many important goals to help us in our journey to excellence so we have chosen one of the most important, yet neglected by many, aspects of success and that is personal hygiene. Our theme is "Personal Hygiene in Twenty13." We've listed the 13 most important personal hygiene practices to focus on this year. So here's the list:
1. Wash hands three times a day. (always do what your mom and dad say)
2. Brush your teeth whenever they are dirty.
3. Floss
4. Take your flatulence outside
5. Toilet seat down
6. Kleenex(or any generic facial tissue ); not the sleeve
7. Facial hair checks
8. Clean ear wax
9. Fingers stay outside the nose (include ears and nose)
10. Bathe as needed
11. Flush
12. Keep faces off kitchen counter and computer keyboards
13. Cover mouth when speaking if: eating broccoli or peanuts, talking quickly and you are a spitter, or you haven't done #2 on this list.
